The purpose of a raid is not to destroy or kill but to obtain a specific tangible demand, such as a person or item. Thralls count as property – you cannot kill a thrall that is secured. You cannot kill a thrall or damage property without first declaring a raid and following the raid rules. Raids cannot be declared to resolve a spontaneous insult. Raids are declared against a clan or person with the intent of breaching their structures or buildings or stations in an attempt to achieve one of the allowable objectives.
Raids cannot be issued with the intent to cause direct harm onto a specific individual or the clan for a general reason.
“Intent to kill X” would be a justifiable reason to raid provided there is IC reason to want that X dead (when someone has fled PvP and sought refuge inside a building, a discovered theft, etc). “Intent to loot” would also be a justifiable reason but you must specify what you are seeking to loot (weapons, mithril, etc).
Kidnap, hostage rescue and such in any situation where a character could be considered a “valuable resource.” Whilst value is subjective, a criteria would be need to be established.
For example:
Notable Interaction with offending clan.
Value to defending clan. (such as nobles, faction leaders etc.)
Kidnapping is still subject to the standard four hour limit of forced captivity.
RP Hubs
Roleplay hubs are protected during raids and cannot be the target of a raid unless they have waived raid protection. RP hubs cannot organize or be part of raids on other clans. If someone you are raiding has a roleplay hub and are using it to hide from combat, you should record evidence of the situation and contact an admin to resolve the issue.
If you have waived raid protection for your RP hub, your RP hub can be raided provided all other raid rules are followed.
Stations, chests, and wheels are not protected by our raid rules if they are not within sight of a clan or person’s main base. These structures are meant to be employed for use directly around your claimed land, in, or around your actual base. Any stations, chests, or wheels left out in the open are subject to being destroyed at any time by other players who find them abandoned and undefended.
Admin Buildings in the hub are protected from raids.
Format Used for Raid Declaration Channel
If the format below isn’t included in your raid declaration it will be considered void.
Clan x is raiding clan y
Reason for raid:
Purpose of raid: To obtain x
Number of Attackers:
Raids must be announced 15 minutes before any interaction, in raid declaration channel. The attacker must @ the clan being raided. If the clan does not have a role in discord you must @ the members who are online in game.
EXAMPLE:
Clan Knossus is raiding clan Sanguine Brood.
Reason for raid: To gather resources Sanguine controls.
Purpose of raid: To obtain the star metal Sanguine’s leader Sephis hoards for himself
Number of Attackers: 4 to their 6
In the above example Knossus is only attacking with 4 members, but Sanguine has 6 members. Sanguine is able to defend with all 6 members – it is Knossuses’ decision to attack with their few numbers.
Clan Sanguine is attacking Clan Knossus
Reason for raid: To gather resources Knossus controls
Purpose of raid: To obtain the materials stored within their Palace
Number of Attackers: 7 to their 4
In the above example Sanguine is within their ratio rules, so Knossus is able to call in allies to meet Sanguine’s numbers up to the 1:1 ratio listed below in the rules. Knossus cannot call in more allies to exceed the total number of attackers, 7.
Ratio Rule
Raiders announce their total members attending, including the allies they bring into a raid to bring their numbers to a 2:1 in favor of raiders. Defenders are able to call in allies once raid is declared to bring the ratio to 1:1
Allies and Raiding
Since raids are spontaneous there will be a 15 minute warning time, Defenders may send a raven in discord requesting the aid of their allies. The allied forces must then send another raven in global and on discord acknowledging this along with the name of the players who will respond. If multiple ravens are sent to differing clans, the first to respond with names will be the one to participate. Allies can not have more than a 2:1 ratio, and their clan members must fill these slots if they have them. In other words, you cannot have a clan member online for a raid and take a non-clan member as an ally in their place. Defenders can only call in enough allies to bring it to a 1:1 ratio.
Raid Timer
Raids should only last 1hr. Attackers have 1hr since the start of pvp to obtain their goal if their goal is not achieved within that hour they must sound a retreat and the raid ends in a loss.
PVP Intent and Raiding
Once attackers and defenders meet attackers must provide defenders the opportunity to surrender. If Defenders surrender they must adhere to the ‘Purpose’ of the attackers raid. If Defenders resist pvp intent is given and pvp can begin.
Winning and Losing:
If Defenders hold off attackers for 1hr and attackers are unable to obtain their demand, attackers are to retreat and the raid ends in a loss for the attackers. Any attackers that were downed inside the walls or confines of the defenders base may be taken for consequences, any attackers who were downed outside are assumed to have been recovered from the battlefield. If defenders are downed outside the confines of their base they can be taken for consequences by the attackers.
If Defenders down all the attackers in PVP then the raid ends in a loss for the attackers. Defenders may now provide downed and surrendered attackers with consequence.
If Attackers obtain objective and escape before the 1hr timer the raid ends as a loss for defenders. Any defenders who were downed outside the wall can be taken for consequence. Any defenders who were downed inside are assumed to have been recovered from the battlefield
If attackers have downed all defenders before the 1 hour timer the raid ends in a loss for the defenders. Attackers may now provide downed, and surrendered defenders with consequences.
If attackers raid with the intent to loot, each member of the raiding party can only carry 200 pounds of things in addition to their equipment (this will require raiders to provide a screenshot of their inventory with weight before they loot and then after they have taken what they want).
You are limited to taking 25 items that do not have a weight value.
Raiders cannot use thralls or mounts or pets to carry items away from a raid.
Defenders who lose cannot pick up or hide items after the loss with the intent of keeping those items from the winning side. If you are caught doing this you will receive a strike.
Defenders who do not respond or are unable to respond to the raid, are considered to be defeated and the raiders will win their objective if they are able. If the objective for the raid is not achievable, such as to retrieve a person, then they can raid to loot.
RAID LOOTING
When looting items from a raid, you must designate a “mule” who will carry the items you loot. The mule may have a porter pack, but nothing else. The mule must screenshot their inventory before they take anything, and all item taken from the raid must be given to them, then after the items are looted, the “mule” must screenshot their inventory again. They must do nothing with the items until the clan has compiled a list of the items taken. The weight allowance is 200 pounds per raider that is looting, no more than 25 items with no weight, and 25 gold or the equivalent of that amount through other coins. If you have 5 people raiding, your mule will have 1000 pounds on them, 125 weightless items, and 125 gold. If you pick something up from a station or box, you cannot put it back yourself, you must give it to an admin so that we can confirm it was not taken. The event log does not show when something it put back into a box, only when it is taken.
The injured may participate in defense of their own clan’s base however, if you are downed while injured it adds 15 to your wounds table roll. You must also participate in consequences.
Raid Cooldowns
Once raided the defenders base now has an active cooldown timer of 48 hrs before any clan can raid it again. After that 48 hrs anyone can declare a raid on that clan again. If the defenders raid anyone during that 48hr period their cooldown is reset and they can be raided.
Raid Limitations
You may only raid a clan twice in a 7 day period before a war needs to be declared to resolve the hostility. Clan ‘A’ raids Clan ‘B’ on Monday, then raids them again on Wednesday, and wants to raid again Friday. The raid on Friday would not be allowed to proceed due to the raid limitation of 2 per 7 day period.
Death and Raiding
If you die by any means, pulling bracelet, dying to thralls or beasts once pvp intent is declared it counts as a down and you cannot return to the pvp scenario to fight.
Constant Hostility
More than two raids on the same clan in one week is considered an instant war declaration. You are still subject to the warfare rules, which means if you have keep tile protection, you are limited in how many raids you can instigate against a clan in one week.
Before you declare a second raid in one week, you must show that you have the funds and ability to go to war. If you do not, you cannot declare a second raid in one week.
Pets and Raiding
The defending clan may have their full allotment of thralls out during a raid (6 per person ). The attacking clan may utilize as many as they can have follow.
Standard Rules of Engagement – Raids
Trebuchets are prohibited
Repairs are prohibited during raid
Building is prohibited during the raid
Hostage/Captive Rules
You may hold a player hostage for up to 4 hours (more if they consent OOCly). If at any time the hostage goes without rp for 30 mins – they may escape and post via discord in the IC RP channel detailing their escape.
Please be reasonable and considerate of all players when holding someone hostage for a length of time, rp should be enjoyable for all. Dark and mature themes will still require consent, if it is not given, default to fade to black, if parties do not consent to a fade to black then it will default to a life lost.
With that being said understand that if you are captured expect harsher roleplay such as beatings, whips and starvation but it is on the controlling side to ensure fun is had by all.
There is no limiter on being raided while also engaged or captured elsewhere. If you are afk and do not respond to a raid declaration within 15 minutes, you default on the raid.
