FROSTBLOOD HALF-ORC
Frostblood orcs are one of the youngest sub-race of orcs. It is commonly accepted that they arose from populations of mountain orcs who remained in the icy northern Hyperborean mountains following the orcish horde’s repulsion from the west. This theory seems plausible enough to most sages but the frostblood orcs would rather rip your throat out than discuss the topic. Frostblood orcs share much in common with the mountain orcs from which they are descended. Due to this and the harshness of their preferred environments, they are among the least likely of orcs to mate with humans and produce half-orc offspring.
STATISTICS
APPEARANCE
Frostblood half-orcs rival their arena-bred counterparts, standing between 213 to 261 cm, though they tend to be smaller than other subspecies of half-orc. They have blue hued skin and eyes of white, black, or blue. It is common for them to have more body hair than most other half-orcs. Due to their exclusive carnivorous diets, their teeth are very large and jagged.
PERSONALITY
From their orcish parents, frostblood half-orcs draw intense ferocity and a propensity for aggression. Their human blood, however, tempers these attributes, such that they are capable of interacting with and becoming part of civilization. This doesn’t make them any less dangerous. Some frostblood half-orcs sublimate their violence and transform it into a talent for cunning, if simple, cruelty and sadism, although this again is heavily dependent upon their upbringing.
ALIGNMENT
Tends toward neutral and evil.
SOCIETY
Frostblood orcs tend to be a solitary, wary breed of orc whose breed of pugnaciousness is usually expressed in a more patient, actively malicious way. Like all orcs, they value strength above all else, relying on intense exposure to cold to determine the worth of their offspring. This ensures that only the most cold-resistant progeny survive to become the next generation. Needless to say, despite their innate temperature endurance, frostblood half-orcs almost never “make the cut.” Due to shared culture, merits, and environment, there are several ethnicities of humans that may be more likely to interbreed with frostblood orcs than others. These include Nords, Hyperboreans and Cimmerians.
FAVORED PROFESSION:
Frostblood half-orcs are most often warriors but they have more outlaws and fecund mystics than most of their kind.
ENEMIES:
Elves and dwarves are natural enemies to frostblood orcs, and this animosity tends to hold over to the offspring as well, although it tends to be one-sided on the part of the dwarves and elves.
