WILD ELF
Wild elves, known to some as savage elves, are a feral offshoot of wood elves. Where wood elves epitomize the calm flow of the natural world, wild elves are the adrenaline and the hunt, the pounding of blood in your ears as you stalk your prey, and the wolf baying at the full moon. In order for there to be balance, there must not only be prey and flora, but also predators, and it is this aspect of the grand design to which wild elves cleave the strongest. Their number is limited in the Exiled Lands, for exile is an extremely uncommon punishment among their kind in Hyboria and even there they are modest in number. They prefer the deepest, most confusing sprawls of primordial jungle or swamp.
STATISTICS
AGE
Wild elves are the shortest lived of elven sub-races, although not by much. They mature at around 100 years, hitting middle age at 150 and venerable age at 325.
APPEARANCE
Wild elves are by far the sturdiest of elves, with thicker frames and denser muscles than their brethren, although their height is average for their kind (IQoL 0.9 - 1.1.) Their skin tone varies from light mocha to dark chocolate with similar hair. Eye colors include brown, hazel, and green. It is considered taboo and dishonorable to adorn their bodies with anything they have not had a personal hand in acquiring, whether through hunting, gathering, or crafting.
DEMEANOR
A wild elf is not exactly what most would expect given the stereotype of elves commonly held by most. They are straight-forward, no-nonsense, and very intense in all dealings, getting to the point quickly and with few words. Like the wood elf, they do not talk much, but when they do, they tend to express themselves in the shortest and simplest diction possible. Also like wood elves, wild elves prefer to watch strangers before interacting directly, though they usually assess things in terms of potential threats, just in case it should come to conflict. They are probably the most instinctive of elves and part of their instinct is a tendency towards aggression that exceeds that of most of their brethren. This rarely comes from a desire to do true harm, though they do not spurn violence if it seems the best solution for a problem. They have an innate distrust for most man-made things, and they dislike anything that brings harm or infringes upon nature. They avoid things like large cities and organized settlements. They will venture in if necessary, but they never stay longer than they must and they never take any of the trappings of the city home with them. They tend to hold a grudge and their memory is long. Once they perceive they have been wronged, they will hold onto that perception.
SOCIETY
Wild elves do not usually form clans of multiple bloodlines or arrange themselves by tribal divisions. Their society is that of the nuclear family; a wolf pack would be a good approximation of their family dynamic. Dominance and submission are cornerstones of their society, both instinctively and culturally. Leadership of a pack is won through competition. Any member of a pack may try to unseat their leader by calling them out in challenge, though the nature of the challenge is decided by the sitting ruler. They may choose one of the following challenges: body, mind, or spirit. These contests often lead to injury, be it tangible or otherwise, but are very rarely lethal.
FAVORED PROFESSION
The most common professions among wild elves are Warrior and Mystic (Fecund.) Entertainers are uncommon. Artisans, Nomads, Outlaws, and Mystics (Sorcerer and Faith) are rare.
ENEMIES
Like all elves, wild elves have a natural hatred for orcs, half-orcs, goblins and dark elves.
