MOON ELVES
Moon elves are sometimes called silver Elves. Both of these are apt nicknames. Of all elven sub-races, moon elves are the most “human.” If you told one this right to their face they wouldn’t even be offended. No one is quite sure how or why moon elves rose as a separate sub-race - not even them. Some say they were a natural hybridization of high elf and wood elf while others insist that they were simply the result of the full moon’s light on a forgotten elven babe one night. The moon elves are happy enough with this lack of origin. Such things don’t matter to them. Like the celestial body after which they are named, they have a talent with flowing along with whatever life throws at them.
STATISTICS
AGE
Moon elves reach maturity at 110 years of age, hitting their middle years at 175, and venerable is 350, with a life span of 450 years.
APPEARANCE
It is readily apparent why moon elves are referred to as silver elves. In coloration, they are without exception fair. Their complexion is always pale with a slight silvery sheen. The spectrum of their hair includes black, blue, or silvery white. They sport eyes of green, blue, or silver. Jewelry holds a special place in their heart - especially gifts. It isn’t the quality or value of a piece that matters to them, but rather the sentiment behind them. They especially cherish jewelry that has been tailored to something specific about their character or personality. They are the most average of elven sub-races in proportions, having the same approximate height of a human (IQoL 0.9 - 1.1) but being more lithely built.
DEMEANOR
Moon elves are the most outgoing of all elves. They enjoy fraternization and find it easy, often finding themselves the center of attention, whether it be through hosting events or in simple friend circles. Moon elves tend to be honest and open without crossing personal boundaries, rarely breaching another’s privacy without good reason. They are also very emotionally empathetic and sensitive, knowing how to respond to others’ needs.
SOCIETY
Of all elven sub-races, moon elves are the most fluid about their society. It is easy for them to blend into friendly cultures and foreign societies, adopting the traditions of others without indignation. In particular, they enjoy the exchange of high culture, including art, fashion, music, and crafts. They are renowned for being savvy but fair traders that enjoy bringing rare and new goods to far-flung populations. The closest thing they have to a truly homogeneous society is familial (both nuclear and extended) structure. For them, friends can be just as important as family.
FAVORED PROFESSION
Like all elves, moon elves have an instinctive talent for arcane magic, making Sorcerers common. In addition, they have numerous Nomads, Artisans, and Entertainers among their number. Outlaws and Warriors are the least common among their kind but it’s hard to pin down any moon elf.
ENEMIES
Orcs, half-orcs, goblins and dark elves.
RESTRICTIONS
Moon elves do not consume any kind of meat or fowl, although they can eat fish. They prefer nuts, berries, fruits, and vegetables.
