Aiden Kell’s stomach lurches suddenly as his head begins to swim. He sits down to steady himself, wondering if this was illness or some dark magic targeting him. He looks out the window of the magistrate’s office at the violent sandstorm throwing branches and pebbles at the glass. He stands and quickly makes his way over to the porch and looks around at New Haven. This seems far worse than most of the sandstorms they see around New Haven. The winds pick up, the sky turns dark and the animals shift and prance nervously. The creaking of the floorboards behind him let him know someone has entered the office and he slowly goes back inside. A badly injured female leans against Aiden’s desk, clutching her side. In her hand he sees the crumpled and bloodstained parchment and hurries over, motioning Asjara to come help. While Asjara quickly begins to apply bandages and tend to the woman’s wounds Aiden reaches for the parchment, pulling it gently from her hand. His eyes quickly scan the parchment, reading the document twice before rolling the parchment up and walking over to the map on the wall. His eyes go to the Highlands, pinning a location before walking back to his desk. He authors the following notice:
"Attention Exiles. Our scouts have returned with information about a disturbance in the Highlands. Some sort of tear has occurred that looks to be a bridge or gateway to another location. We do not currently know where the tear leads, whether it is safe or what lurks on the other side. We are seeking volunteers to travel to the tear and explore the other side and report back to us with anything they learn. We cannot guarantee your safety, we cannot guarantee anything, so if you embark on this, you must fully understand that we cannot tell you what to expect. It is possible that things through the tear are the same as they are here. It is possible that there is wondrous magic there, or no magic at all. We can make no promises to you, other than to reward you should you return with information for us. We will send a scout through to meet you on the other side and track your progress, but beyond that there is little we can offer you. If you choose to explore this tear and make it back through, seek me out and I will make sure your name and deeds are recorded and known."
The Isle of Siptah
This is the newest expansion for Conan Exiles, and Maelstrom will be running both Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah. Maelstrom is the server that runs Exiled Lands, does not run the Siptah map, and is where most of our lore and RP takes place. We also run Maelstrom Siptah. This is the Siptah map. The two maps are linked in our lore, and travel between the two is possible. In the Highlands you will find a permanent rift that is a bridge between the two locations. You can travel through as often as you wish, although the effects of frequent travel have not yet been studied, and the trip destroys all gear you may have on you when you step through. There will be events and crossover story lines that tie directly into both servers.
Server Information
We will detail here the rules that are different or directly impacted by the Isle of Siptah. If it is not covered here, the standard server rules apply.
The two servers will be referenced as Maelstrom Exiled Lands and Maelstrom Siptah.
The new map is part of our lore. There is a rift that has opened and we have been unable to close it. New Haven has enlisted the help of Exiles to travel into the rift and report what they find on the other side.
Characters can originate Maelstrom Exiled Lands or on Maelstrom Siptah.
Characters will be able to role play traveling freely between the two locations, but they must use one of the rifts in order to do so.
None of your gear, weapons or clothing will survive the trip through the rift. Anything that you have on you will be destroyed when you step through the rift.
If you are playing the same character on both maps, you can open a ticket and twice a month the admin team will synchronize your character levels so that your Maelstrom Exiled Lands character is the same level as your Maelstrom Siptah level. This is only done for characters who exist on both servers. Open a ticket in the contact an admin channel and the admin team will update on the first and third weekend of each month.
- The only thing that we will update is your level.
- Lore and in game information you have holds over to both servers.
- The Maelstrom Exiled Lands server is the lore server. We will be writing and implementing supplemental lore for Maelstrom Siptah, but all general information and lore originates from the Maelstrom Exiled Lands server.
- You can choose to play the same character on both servers, which will enable you to maintain your RP across both servers, but you must maintain the character. Your roleplay is the same, your race must be the same, your class must be the same. You can have different characters on the both servers, but you are still limited to the same number restrictions as far as alts and the same metagaming rules apply.
If you are a patron, you must pick which server you wish to apply your patron benefits. Some things will be available to you on both servers but for others you must pick on which server you wish to receive your benefits.
- All donors will get donor rank tag on all servers for all characters.
- All donors will get free or reduced caravan rank tag on all servers for all characters.
- The donor build kit is available once per player (NOT CHARACTER) on all servers. This refreshes at the start of every season.
- Thrall Exchange (for gold donors) - you will get one thrall exchange each month for each server on which you play (if you play on both, you will get one on the Maelstrom Exiled Lands server and one on the Maelstrom Siptah server)
- Access to the patron vendor (not all items will be available on both servers).
Players must pick which server to apply the following benefits:
- Free Thrall
- Gold Kit
- Thespian
- Additional Build Allowance
- Additional Thrall/Pet Allowance
Maelstrom Siptah Specific Rules
- There is no tile ownership on Maelstrom Siptah.
- You must still have a valid land claim for raid protection to kick in. If you do not have a valid land claim, players can destroy your build without declaring a raid. If there is a valid land claim, a raid must be declared and the normal raiding rules apply.
- You cannot have builds in multiple locations across the map, block POI, or extend bridges or additions that extend beyond your immediate build.
- There is limited caravan travel available at the Outpost.
- The archetypes for Maelstrom Exiled Lands cannot be obtained on Maelstrom Siptah.
- You can have an archetype on Maelstrom Siptah if you complete the quest for the archetype on the Maelstrom server and then travel to Maelstrom Siptah.
- There may be archetypes that are only available on Maelstrom Siptah in the future.
